Oil tanker vanishes from driver's house

Imphal, July 13 2017:
An empty 12 kilolitre oil tanker of one of IOC's transporter Hemanta Sharma has reportedly gone missing from the residence of the tanker's driver .
The oil tanker bearing registration number MN01-8449 is owned by one Ranjan Prasad from Mantripukri .
The owner has filed a complaint at Sekmai police station today afternoon, regarding the disappearance of the vehicle .
According to a police source, the report submitted by the owner Ranjan Prasad explained that after it finished its job of unloading fuel at Malom oil depot in June, the oil tanker had been parked at the residence of its driver Th Ranbir at Awang Sekmai New Market on July 11 waiting for its next trip .
It pointed out that Ranbir had kept the keys of the tanker inside the tool box after parking it at his residence and added that the driver's side door can be easily opened by reaching the handle from the outside .
The report also mentioned that Ranbir then left the tanker at his residence and went to Imphal to attend to a sick relative .
It also claimed that some people from the locality saw the tanker driving off from the driver's residence at a round 11.30 pm of July 11, the source added.
