10 frontline workers test positive at Senapati

Senapati, August 09 2020:
Altogether 10 new COVID positive cases were detected today among frontline workers deployed in Senapati, including two medical staff, two police personnel, 1 returnee from Children Home (IQC) and five from Assam Rifles personnel.
One among the two police personnel is stated to be stationed at an IQC in the district headquarters and the other is stated to be a staff of the Police Control Room, SP Office, Senapati.
The two medical staff who tested positive are reported to be a doctor and a nurse working at the district COVID Care Centre.
In this regard, the District Magistrate, Senapati declared a hotel where the two medical staff reside and the surroundings of the IQC where one returnee tested positive as containment zones.
The Chief Medical Officer of the district also directed all primary/secondary contacts of the positive cases to come for sample collection and testing apart from asking them to remain under quarantine for 14 days.
The CMO further directed all to immediately contact the concerned district officers in case COVID-19 related symptoms are seen.
It is reported that three of them had been moved to the district CCC while 2 medical staff were sent to UNACCO, Imphal.
The five AR men are stated to be at their set-up.
On the other hand, one personnel of 10th Assam Rifles who has been staying at a quarantine centre of the battalion at Noney has been tested positive for COVID-19 .
District Magistrate of Noney, Hungyo Worshang declared store shelters, helipad and signal centre of the 10th AR and paddy field of Longmai Noney village as containment areas.
