Imphal, April 09 2020:
Huidrom Bimolata, a young woman who lost her right hand when she was just a ten-year-old child is still giving her best efforts to make ends meet of her family, sometimes weaving cloth and sometimes making grill (Kharai) .
Born to Huidrom Leimu and Huidrom (o) Ibemma of Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai, Huidrom Bimolata is a 30 years old woman and is currently sharing a house with one of her brothers.
She lost her hand in an accident when a rice grinding machine caught a piece of her cloth she wore and pulled her toward the machine while playing near a rice mill opened in her house.

After the accident, she dropped out of school.
Bimolata is the only girl child of her parents and she has four brothers of which one has died.
Her mother also passed away and her father is living together with one of her brothers.
Though she has lost her hand, one can call her a brave-heart as Bimolata has put the accidental tragedy behind her and is focusing more on work.
But, as many women have started weaving professionally, she didn't get much profit from this profession so she started making grill (kharai) for a small company based in her locality.
"On a good day, I make up to Rs 150 a day from making grill," Bimolata narrated.
The young woman also said that she now focuses more on making grill and weave clothes during free time.
"But owing to the Nationwide lockdown, I have stopped making grill and weaving clothes as no shops are opened to buy materials or to sell a finished product," she lamented.
Saying that she has no other incomes, Bimolata continued that she is struggling now in making ends meet of her family.
However, she lauded the State Government for their efforts to contain the virus from spreading.
Bimolata also appealed the State Government and authorities concerned to do the needful so that differently-abled persons can earn by work from home.
