Imphal, June 06:
Close on the heels of the Postal Director's refutation of the allegations leveled against him by the employees, the All India Postal Employees Union, Manipur Divisional Branch today accused the Director, George Ninan of furnishing false and misleading information to the press for general knowledge of the people.
In a statement the employees' union today said far from inviting the employees for negotiation to hammer out a solution the Director has been acting in a dictatorial manner.
The statement said transferring one employee from one table to another amounts to directly interfering with the duty of the Post Master and cited an example whereby one Assistant Post Master was ordered to work at a table meant for clerical staff.
On the allegation of taking SDA forcibly by the staff, the statement said Postal staff in Assam including Guwahati where the Chief Post Master General sits have drawn their SDA amount.
The employees also accused the Director of being high handed and said even parents, wife and relatives are not allowed to meet the employees at the office even in times of emergency.
The Director also came in for heavy criticism for his highhanded demeanor against the employees and for roughly treating the subordinates.
