Imphal, January 27 2022:
Socialist Students' Union of Kangleipak (SSUM) has appealed to all concerned not to threaten, make demands or cause any form of disturbance to the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CoHSEM) .
In a press release issued on Thursday, SSUM joint secretary Hassan said that when the Covid-19 pandemic situation waned, people slowly started returning to normal their lives including resumption of offline classes for students.
However, in view of recent surge of infections by the Omicron variant, the students' body visited and talked with the officials and staff of CoHSEM, who are working tireless for the welfare of students, particularly with regard to the annual final/qualifying examinations and the new academic session.
The officials and the staff are in a difficult position on whether to avoid the risks to their lives or brave the risks for the sake of the students.
As such, it is wrong to make threats to the Council or cause disruption in the working of the academic body amidst this uncertainty.
Thus, Hassan appealed to all concerned not to make threats and extortion demands to the Council or cause any sort of disturbance to the working of CoHSEM.
