Army brave-hearts honoured in Delhi, Sajik Tampak

In a solemn tribute to the unwavering spirit and selfless sacrifice of rifleman (GD) Raj Nath Yadav, a wreath-laying ceremony took place at National War Memorial, Delhi, on December 3 .
The ceremony, attended by Veer Nari Ram Devi, commemorated the valiant sacrifice of Raj Nath Yadav, who laid down his life while defending the company operating base during a militant raid on July 9, 1987 .
A statement of PRO IGAR (S) said that Yadav's heroic stand at Oinam in Senapati district, exemplifies the courage and dedication inherent in armed forces.
The ceremony served as a remembrance of his sacrifice, symbolising eternal gratitude and respect.
Dignitaries, military officials, and well-wishers joined the Veer Nari in offering wreaths at the National War Memorial.
Simultaneously, at Sajik Tampak, Assam Rifles conducted another wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate rifleman Gopal Chand, recipient of Kirti Chakra (Posthumous).
Gopal Chand made the ultimate sacrifice in 1984 while confronting insurgents near Hillock, adjacent to Border Pillar 136 (Indo-Myanmar) in Nagaland.
A contingent comprising officers, JCOs, and other ranks paid their respects by laying wreaths and offering guard of honour.
