Awareness on human trafficking held

National Commission for Women, New Delhi and Manipur State Commission for Women jointly organised an anti-human trafficking awareness programme at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraobung, Moreh on Monday.
The awareness programme was attended by State Commission chairperson Ulka Salam as chief guest and National Commission for Women senior coordinator Lilapati as president while Manipur State Commission for Women members Lourembam Dayabati, Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang and T Chuongsin Koireng were present as guests of honour.
Social Welfare deputy director (WP) Binobala Nongmeikapam spoke on 'Prevention and Support Service to Victim Trafficking', Tengnoupal additional SP O Sukumar Singh on 'Rescue investigation and prosecution of human trafficking', New Life Foundation Manipur and Childline Bishnupur secretary Dr L Pishak Singh on 'Modus Operandi of human trafficking' and 5th AR major Ranbir Singh on 'Border management to trafficking' as resource persons.
The awareness programme was attended by members of Women's organisations and NGOs in Tengnoupal district among others.
