Jiribam, June 05 2021:
The Covid Task Force of AMSU, MSF, DESAM and KSA has questioned the state government why it has taken no action against six doctors who are yet to join Jiribam District Hospital despite an order issued by Health and Family Welfare deputy secretary Soiminlian Lengen on May 28 transferring them to Jiribam DH.
In video released by the Covid Task Force on Saturday, its co-convener L Bilaksh Meetei questioned hesitancy of the government to initiate punitive action against six recalcitrant doctors and wondered if there any hidden agenda behind this when the district is in the grip of Covid-19 pandemic.
Bilaksh continued that when the Task Force members enquired about the matter, Jiribam district CMO Dr Dr E Okendro replied that the director has not issued the release order of the six doctors.
This needs to be looked into by the government urgently, he said.
