Workshop on Umorok disease management held

Initiated by Farming Alternatives and Resilience Management Schools (FARMS) director Dr Senjam Jinus with the support of an expert advisory team comprising Birjeet Yanglem, Tayenjam Dipu and Keniyo Thokchom from Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Department of Agriculture and KVK Hengbung farm manager Homen Kangjam, the first-ever virtual workshop on "Package of practices of Umorok and Disease Management: Towards The Sustainable Cultivation" was conducted on Sunday.
During the workshop, Agriculture Department project officer Khongbantabam Nimaichand delivered a lecture on smart strategies to deal with the problems of Umorok production and its diseases and pest management.
More than 60 farmers from Chadong village, Purum Pantha village, Moirang, Kakching Khunou and various students from agricultural background participated in the programme.
