CCpur records 55 new Covid cases, 2 deaths

Churachandpur, May 12 2021:
Churachandpur district on Wednesday registered 55 COVID-19 confirmed cases (28 males & 27 females), taking the total number of positive cases in the district so far to 315, according to a press release of the District Information Officer (DIO) Churachandpur.
The authority of District Hospital, Churachandpur also reported two COVID-19 deaths (both men - one aged 51 years & the other aged 81 years) at the hospital in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 55 new positive cases, 40 cases (18 males & 22 females) were confirmed to be COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test conducted at the district hospital and other testing centres while 15 cases (10 males & 5 females) including 7 military personnel, were tested positive in RT-PCR test.
As per the district hospital authority, all the 20 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients have been occupied as of Wednesday.
The district hospital currently has 42 D-type oxygen cylinders out of which 22 are filled/in stock while 20 are currently in use.
Besides, the hospital has 23 B-type oxygen cylinders out of which 8 are filled while 9 are currently in use and the rest are to be refilled.
The COVID Care Centres currently have 8 B-type oxygen cylinders and 4 D-type oxygen cylinders.
On Wednesday, Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi (KKL), a prominent philanthropic organisation in Churachandpur, donated 2 D-type and 3 B-type filled oxygen cylinders for use in the COVID centres.
KKL president Kamthang Haokip handed over the filled oxygen cylinders to chief medical officer Dr Vumchonpau Tonsing in the presence of deputy commissioner Pawan Yadav and ADC Thangboi Gangte.
