Moreh, December 03 2021:
Myanmar authorities have informed that they will soon open the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 1 from their side for resumption of trade between India and Myanmar.
As per a letter sent by Tamu District Administration Body, Myanmar chairman Kyaw Auntt Maung to deputy commissioner Tengnoupal, the Myanmar authorities have taken the decision after considering that the Covid-19 situation in Tamu district and Tengnoupal district has been under control.
Hence, it has been decided to open the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 1 in coming days from the side of Myanmar to resume the border trade between the two neighbouring countries.
But the international border along with Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 2 will remain shut, the letter mentioned.
The letter, though, did not give a clear-cut timeline for reopening of Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate No 1 .
