Republic Day celebrated in Pherzawl, Thoubal, Senapati districts

Pherzawl, January 27 2022:
District Administration, Pherzawl district celebrated the 73rd Republic Day on Wednesday at DC Office Complex in the presence of SP Ingawale Pravin Dadas, district level officers and chief of different villages.
Pherzawl deputy commissioner (DC) Joseph Pauline Kamson unfurled the tri-colour and took salute from the march-past contingents led by SI Lalbiakmuan of Thanlon PS.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC assured that the District Administration will ensure that there is transparency and efficiency in the service delivery system through speedy and proper implementa-tion of various welfare programmes and projects.While highlighting on the various flagship programmes taken up during the last one year, the DC pointed out that under Jal Jeevan Mission, 3,534 households in 17 villages have been provided tap water and efforts are on expand coverage of the project.
Stressing on the importance of good education, Joseph Pauline Kamson said that education is the foundation of good governance.
Under the School Fagathansi Mission, Parbung and Thanlon higher secondary schools have been established while process is underway for construction of Dr Thuoma Hr Sec School under Vangai Range sub-division, conveyed the DC.
He added that under MDM scheme, around 4000 students are being benefitted.
Under the Forest Department, tree saplings in 65 hectares, bamboo plantations in 20 hectares and spring-shed development for enhancing rural water security on Participatory Forest Manage-ment Approach were taken up at Thanlon and Lungthulien villages, 20 ha of mixed plantation under Agro-Forestry Model (combination of tree and agriculture/horticultural crops) at Lawibual village, stated the DC.
He also informed that under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, One Stop Centre has been made fully operational since December 1, 2021 in association with NGO partner, Action for Women and Child Advancement (AWCA).
The temporary office located at Thanlon block will be shifted once a police station is established at Pherzawl district headquarters, added the DC.
Regarding MGNREGS, Joseph Pauline said that for the Financial Year 2021-22, the district is able to generate 55.63 average days of employment per household for 4,39,311 persons which is among the highest in the state.
The DC also maintained that two projects under Rural Infrastructure De-velopment Fund of NABARD have been approved and tender process completed.He further added that in the sector of Block Development Funds under North Eastern Council, Vangai range TD Block has been selected, and an outlay of Rs 5 crore project has been submitted to NEC for various sectors in capacity building, health, kendriya vikas, agri & horticulture, edu-cation, community assets, sports, transportation and power (solar street lighting).
Lauding the healthcare workers and all con-cerned for the noble services on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, the DC maintained that Pherzawl is the only district with zero COVID-19 death and one of the lowest positivity rate in the state.
Urging each and everyone in the district to get the full doses of the vaccines immediately, the DC also commended the district police for their diligence and wisdom in handling issues tactfully.
In all, 62 officials and staff of Pherzawl district administration were presented with certificates in recognition of their exemplary dedication, selfless service and for working beyond the call of duty.
The celebration was also held at sub-divisional headquarters.
SENAPATI: The district administration of Senapati joined rest of the country in celebrating the 73rd Republic Day of India on Wednesday.
DC Mahesh Chaudhari unfurled the national flag and took the salute from the district police contingent.Addressing the gathering, Mahesh Chaudhari thanked all staff of the district administration for their tireless efforts towards ensuring better func-tioning of the government till date and highlighted different developmental works and infrastructure development in the district including in education and health sectors.
Out of 3/4 major projects that are in progress, Maram-Peren road is one of them covering 109.454 km project, he said and appealed to all to extend maximum cooperation to make it successful.
Another major boost for the district is the ongoing work of developing the Tadubi-Tolloi-Ukhrul road, he said, adding that Senapati is one of the few districts that has many national highway connectivity in the North East.
According to Mahesh Chaudhari, the district administration has taken up an initiative of Single Window Grievance Redressal System which will be made operational after 3/4 days.
Under this system, anyone can scan any complaint and send it to a given whatsapp number without the need of coming to office for the same, he said, adding that this is another major developmental activity for citizen centric governance.
With observance of the National Voters' Day on January 25, DC Senapati said that more than 80 new electorates will exercise their franchise in the upcoming election and appealed to all political parties to get their booth level agents get vaccinated.
The district administration also gave away commendation certificates to police personnel and other officers of various departments for their outstanding service and cooperation to the district administration.
THOUBAL: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at Thoubal District Headquarter with the main function held at Mini Secretariat Complex on Wednesday.Thoubal DC A Subhash Singh unfurled the national flag and took salute from 11 parade con-tingents which included the police, home guards, NCC and students from different schools of the district.
DSP A Khelendra Singh was the Parade Commander.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said various welfare schemes have launched and implemented in the district.
So far, the district has achieved 75 per cent vaccination for 1st dose and 51 per cent for the 2nd dose.
The DC lauded the district police for bust-ing several drug manufacturing units and fake currency manufacturing unit.
Regarding the Jal Jevan Mission the district has covered 74.66 per cent of rural households.
Uyal village has achieved 100 per cent supply of tap water.
The district has also achieved various milestones in the cleanliness drive and able to collect 14,000 kg of single use plastic, elaborated the DC.
Later meritorious awards were distributed to 56 officials and staff of various departments including police personnel.
High ranking civil and police officers of the district, school students and public participated in the celebration.
