Assistance to virus affected families, police continues

In a bid to reduce some of the burden being faced by people, MSME member Robin Blackie distributed edible items to various households in the containment zones of Langthabal AC on Monday.
Robin Blackie along with Lilong Imphal West Municipality Council former chairperson L Lalmani, Seven United Club/Langthabal Kunja president Golmei Wilson, members of HWC Keibung Oinam Leikai and BJP Langthabal Mandal handed over the edible items to families at Keibung Oinam Leikai and Langthabal Chingkha, which have been declared as containment zones.
Meanwhile, intending candidate of Langthabal AC Pukhrambam Somorjit Singh, who is also BJP Manipur Pradesh state secretary distributed essential items to households of the constituency residing in containment zones including Sorokhaibam Leikai, Naorem Leikai, Khongnang Pheidekpi and Langthabal.
Intending candidate of Lilong AC Syed Anwar Hussain distributed edible items to households of Lilong Nungei that have been declared as virus zone after family member(s) tested positive for Covid-19.Under the initiative of Nambol MLA Nameirakpam Loken, relief items were also distributed to 160 households of Nambol Sabal Leikai, Kabowakching Khunjao, Kabowakching Khunou, Nambol Kongkham Awang Leikai, Nambol Khathong Awang Leikai and Pukrambam Mamang Leikai that were notified as containment zones.
Meanwhile, in a gesture of acknowledgement of the service and duties of Kakching District Police in combating the surge of Covid-19, Lions Club of Kakching Greater provided face masks, hand sanitisers, drinking water and ORS drinks on Monday.
Members of Lions Club Kakching Greater led by president Naorem Munal Meitei extended the aid to the police personnel on duty at Kakching, Pallel, Sora, Wabagai Hiyanglam Lamkhai and Sekmaijin Bazar.
Similarly, Whatsapp group Kakchingcha Khakki Epao provided face masks and hand sanitisers to doctors, nurses, police and volunteers of Community Home Isolation Centres set up at Kakching Makha High School, ITI Kakching and Kha Manipur College Kakching and District Covid Care Centre at Kakching Higher Secondary School on Monday.
Face masks and hand sanitisers were also provided to Kakching SP, Addi tional SPs, SDPO, Kakching PS OC team and police personnel on duty at Kakching Bazar.
Speaking on the sidelines, Whatsapp Group admin Moirangthem Prabin informed that the initiative was carried out in acknowledgement of the selfless service of frontline workers in fight ing Covid-19.Citing reports about insufficient number of RAT kit at the Government Testing Centre at Kakching Higher Secondary School causing delay in the testing of individuals requiring immediate testing, he urged the gov ernment to ensure adequate supply of the testing kits to the centre.
