Vaccination for 18-44 age group begins

Imphal, May 17 2021:
As a part the measures taken up by the government for containing Covid-19 pandemic, Covid -19 mass vaccination programme for people in the age group of 18 to 44 years has begun from Monday.
The vaccination is being done at 16 designated vaccination centres, one centre each for all the 16 districts of Manipur.
A team of National Health Mission inspected the vaccination centres.
The vaccination drive launched from January 16 covered health care workers and front-line workers in the first phase.
In the second phase, people above 45 years were vaccinated and 18-44 years age group is to be vaccinated in the third phase.
In all, 1828 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 to 44 years were inoculated against Covid-19 on Monday.
The top five districts with highest number of inoculations on the first day of vaccination drive for people in the age group of 18-44 years are Churachandpur (194), Imphal East (183), Jiribam (171), Tengnoupal (175) and Pherzawl (165) .
