Two from Ukhrul found murdered at Chandel

Ukhrul, April 29 2016 :
Two persons from Ukhrul district were found murdered at Maringthel/Mongkrak village, Chandel district under Tengnoupal police station yesterday.
The two deceased persons have been identified as A Ngaransung (33) S/o late A Yangmaso of Phalee village and MK Lungrei (40) S/o late MK Tion of Hundung village.
Both hailed from Ukhrul district.
According to reports, the two persons were timbers traders and had gone to Maringthel/Mongkrak for their timber business.
On April 22, the two set out to visit the site from where timber was procured.
They however they did not return and villagers found them murdered in their village jungle on April 28 .
According to reliable sources, both the deceased persons bore bullet injury marks on their chest.
It is yet to be established who killed them.
The families have lodged an FIR at Tengoupal police station today while the police have rushed to the area to retrieve the bodies.
In connection with the murder of the two men, the Tangkhul Naga Long has called a joint meeting of the families and social organization leaders to discuss the matter.
Strongly condemning the murder, the TNL demanded that the State Government arrest and penalize the murderers.
The State Government must provide immediate assistance to the families of the two victims, said TNL.
The TNL including representatives of the families further resolved that until and unless the culprit/s are arrested and booked according to law, the bodies would not be claimed.
The TNL is also waiting for the autopsy test result for further decision.
