MPS officer refutes money seizure report

Flatly rejecting the report on the seizure of Rs one lakh from her possession, MPS officer Priyadarshini Laishram has stated that she would take up legal action against all those involved in defaming her.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Assistant Commandant of Manipur Police Training College, Pangei, Priyadarshini Laishram categorically rejected the news report about seizure of Rs one lakh from her possession by a flying squad of Income Tax Department in connection with the ensuing election as totally baseless.
She maintained that no amount of money was seized from her possession in connection with the election.
However, as informed by the Chief Electoral Officer, local media reported that Rs one lakh was seized from the possession of Priyadarshini Laishram, wife of Tongbram Robindro who is contesting the Assembly elections in Thanga AC.
"Even though my husband is contesting the elections, I, as a Government employee, has been abstaining from election-related activities", Priyadarshini said.
She asked all concerned to produce evidence or documents which corroborate the CEO's information.
Priyadarshini said that she would take up legal action for maligning her image.
