CCpur unites in pressing for security cover to Hangshing

Zomi Council, Manipur; Paite Tribe Council; United Zou Organisation; Vaiphei People Council; Tedim Chin Union; Simte Tribe Council; Gangte Tribe Council; Kom Union, Manipur; Mate Tribe Council and Thangkhal People Organisation today jointly submitted a representation to the Chief Minister requesting for ensuring security to the ED/DRDA, Churachandpur.
In the representative submitted through the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, these organizations maintained that incident of threat, intimidation and bomb attack on government servants in Churachandpur had never occurred until the hand grenade which was found kept kept at the residential gate of Chinkhokam Hangshing alias C Hangshing, ED/DRDA,Churachandpur by the so called KNLF and the subsequently bomb attack at the residence of the officer in the evening of August 25 .
The half-hearted security measures taken up by the government despite the warning was highly condemnable and the public are shocked, the representation said, while pressing the demand for providing adequate security to the public of Churachandpur town in general and to C Hangshing ED/DRDA, Churachandpur in particular.
On the other hand, taking serious note over planting of a bomb at the residential gate of Chinkhokam alias C Hangshing, ED of DRDA Churachandpur and the subsequent bomb attack at his residence on the night of August 25 leaving two people, namely, H Nengkhopau (53) brother of C Hangshing and baby Niangthianhoih (1) injured, Churachandpur District Students Union (CDSU), Zomi Students' Federation ZSF general headquarters and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Churachandpur today submitted a representation to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh urging for providing immediate security arrangement to C Hangshing.
In their joint representation, the three student bodies also demanded that financial assistance should also be extended to the injured victims who are still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Shija Hospitals.
The student bodies also demanded the State Government to book the culprits and improve the law and order situation so as to avert any untoward incidents in future.
Observing that the bomb attack had been carried out as Hangshing did not comply with the monetary demand, the student bodies asserted that such attacks would not have been possible if the Government had been attentive enough to the security arrangement of Hangshing.
The student bodies have also warned of taking recourse to intense agitation if the Chief Minister fails to fulfil their demands.
