AR rescues road accident victims on NH-102 / conducts anti drug

Imphal, February 24 2019:
A patrolling party of Moreh Battalion noticed a road accident on NH 102 near Moreh town wherein few civilians were stuck inside the van crying for help, a bolero and a van collided resulting in serious injuries to three persons.
The patrolling team took control of the situation and managed to pull out the injured persons out of the van, provided first aid and rescued the injured persons to unit Hospital at Moreh for further treatment.
The injured belong to Thoubal and were travelling in van from Moreh to Thoubal.
The van also suffered heavy damage.
Due to quick decision making and swift action by Regimental Medical Officer, the team of Assam Rifles saved precious life of civilians.
Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted an Anti Drug Campaign for Drug Free Manipur at Koirengei Company on 22nd February.
As part of the Campaign, an interactive lecture was conducted to generate awareness about the drug issue among the youth.
The lecture was followed by a rally from Koirengei Company to Potsangbam Khunou village.
The campaign was a success in enlightening the villagers about the ill effects of drugs on human body and various measures to counter the drug menace.
The villagers expressed deep gratitude for organising such awareness campaigns and appreciated the efforts and commitment of Assam Rifles to the cause of making Manipur a drug free State.
