A 37 year old woman was gang raped by six persons who identified themselves as cadres of the proscribed KYKL in Heirok.
Giving an account of the crime at Manipur Press Club today, the alleged victim disclosed that the disgusting incident took place in the night of October 9.She was on her way to a house located about one kilometre away from her home at Heirok Part II Bazar to take her wage for agricultural labour.
On the way, she was waylaid by the six individuals who gang-raped her consecutively near Charu culvert of Heirok river located at Heirok Part II Bazar Maning Leirak.
From 8.30 pm, she was raped by the six accused rapists one after another for more than two hours.
She managed to crawl back home at about 11 pm only after the beastly carnal desire of the self-proclaimed KYKL cadres were fully satisfied, recounted the victim.
Before letting her go, the rapists not only identified themselves as KYKL cadres but also threatened the victim not to tell any one of the incident.
They also said that they were fully aware of her and cast aspersions on her character.
She asserted that even after four years of her husband's death stating, "I stuck by my principles and have been earning my livelihood to feed my four children working in brick fields and rice mills." Of the six alleged rapists, Thokchom Boy (20) son of Ito and Thokchom Romesh (20) son of Khomdon of Heirok Part II Bazar who are known to the victim have been arrested by the police.
Still then, the victim is demanding for justice for the grave harm done to her.
