Pressure to retract the decision of extending the boundary of the ceasefire between the Centre and the NSCN (IM) continues to mount with several organizations expressing opposition to the extension.
The Kuki National Assembly has also while welcoming the extension of the truce period said that it opposes the extension of the truce area.
It has urged the Centre to withdraw the decision and said that it will support any agitation taken up against the extension of the truce area.
The president of the Zeliangrong United Club Association, Manipur Valley, and Neibon Thaomei today said over the phone that the association fully supports the agitation truce area extension.
The Keishamthong Kabui Youths Union has expressed opposition to the extension of the ceasefire area.
In a statement, the union also expressed unhappiness over the death and injuries during the general strike.
A meeting of three Kabui villages at Langthabal condemned the geographical extension of the cease fire to Manipur.
The meeting decided to safe guard the territorial integrity of Manipur and to strengthen communal harmony, said sources.
The Langthabal Chingkha Kabui Youth Club has also opposed the truce extension.
The Siamsinpawlpi (Paite Students� Organisation), Imphal block has pledged support to the agitation launched to protect the territorial integrity of the State and expressed shock over the killings of 13 protestors in police firing today.
The Yaipha Lamjing Lup, Pishum Ningom Leirak while protesting the extension said the Centre should be solely responsible for any eventualities.
Demanding revocation of the decision, the Lup said the extension will serve no purpose other then crating communal hatred among the different communities of the State.
While expressing support to the agitations taken up against the extension, the body appealed to all communities to maintain calm.
Ideal Club, Tera Keithel, Council for Youth Welfare, Sayang Road Konthoujam Leikai and Langthabal Khoupum Cultural Club urged the Centre to review the decision.
The organizations have also pledged support to the against the ceasefire boundary extension.
