Arrested cadres from KRA : T Simte

Three of the underground cadres arrested in a joint operation by Imphal West district commandos and 25 AR yesterday at Taphou Kuki in Senapati district belong to the KRA while the fourth one is an innocent Shaktiman driver.
Speaking to some reporters today, publicity secretary of KRA, T Simte refuted the report that four URF cadres were arrested in the joint operation yesterday.
He clarified that three of the arrested men are cadres of KRA while the fourth one is an innocent driver.
There is no camp of the URF at Taphou Kuki, he further clarified.
T Simte said that Taphou Kuki falls within the operational area of KRA before and after the signing of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact.
The armed cadres of the outfit are stationed at the village for the purpose of area domination and to give protection to the highway and the cadres, he said while adding that cadres of the KRA had not resorted to any activities in violation of SoO ground rules since the outfit became a party to the pact.
Pointing out that there was incident of armed KRA cadres stationed at Taphou pulling up gang members near Mt Everest college in 2013 and handing them to the UNC, T Simte said the armed cadres are stationed at the village to give protection to the movement of the public along the highway against various elements disturbing the peaceful environment.
Saying that the outfit is opening a camp at the village to guard against anti-social activities, Simte further clarified that there is no camp of the URF in the village nor the outfit had any relation whatsoever with the URF.
It also has no knowledge about the arrest of any URF cadres.
