State BJP to inspect Old Cachar road

BJP Manipur Pradesh president Thounaojam Chaoba is set to visit Khoupum village, which falls under the home Assembly Constituency of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, to inspect the dilapidated Old Cachar road.
While speaking at a reception function held at their Nityaipat Chuthek office to welcome party members who have newly joined the party, Th Chaoba said that a BJP Manipur Pradesh team led by him would not only inspect the road but also assess PDS implementation in the village and adjoining areas.
He alleged that although PDS items for the village are regularly lifted from Sangaiprou FCS godown, there is no sign of that these items reaching the villagers.
Th Chaoba further said that he would also visit Khoupum dam during his tour programme.
Saying that no vehicle and arms have been provided to Khoupum police station by the Government, Th Chaoba questioned how police can protect the life and property of the general public without arms and vehicles.
Further questioning where the money provided by the Centre has gone, Th Chaoba said that BJP Manipur Pradesh would request the Centre to conduct a CBI enquiry into the alleged fund mismanagement of the State Government.
He further said that his party would launch a campaign to bring all these irregularities to light soon.
Th Chaoba said that he would leave for Delhi tomorrow to be part of the election campaign team of Delhi Assembly election.
He said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, BJP Manipur Pradesh would carry out mega membership enrolment drives known as 'Sashakta Bharat Sashakta BJP' from this month.
Saying that motorcycle rallies, street corner awareness campaigns, institutional campaigns and kiosk campaigns would be conducted as part of the mega drive, Th Chaoba said that the party has elected social media in-charge and publicity and propaganda secretaries.
During today's reception function, former city unit president of TMC, RK Priyobarta, Lamshang Nagar Panchayat Ward No 8 Member Leishangthem Devananda, Lamshang Nagar Panchayat Ward No 2 Member Laishram Salaingamba and social activist Sairem Bobo of Lamshang Taothong were accorded warm welcome.
