Chandel, May 21 2021:
A 6-year old broke his piggy bank for a good cause and a 9-year old promised a gift.
No empty words, no delay, and a beautiful personal touch transpired, transcending distance, cultures, and man-made limitations.
Six-year old Palungvar Vipeto Sengul of Lambung, Chandel had donated his entire savings, which amounted to Rs 1180, from his piggy bank to 9-year-old environmental activist Licypriya Kangujam's crowd sourcing, with the hope of saving the life of those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In response, Team Licypriya donated an oxygen concentrator worth Rs 70,000 to Chandel district hospital, all because of the effort of a small boy.
The concentrator arrived from Imphal a day after the Facebook post went viral.
It was handed over to Chandel DH medical superintendent Dr Joyson Monsang in the presence of Palungvar and his family, Hospital authorities, team Licypriya and team Wisecrabs - Chandel.
Extending gratitude to Licypriya with a poster art from Chandel's artist Ng Ringvean and an official club coffee mug, Wisecrabs said that this Oxygen Concentrator is a lifesaving essential in the fight against Coronavirus.
"We are thrilled & indebted to little Palungvar & Licypriya, as it would not have been possible to save the lives of those desperately in need of oxygen.
Chandel District Hospital is now well equipped to fight the virus and will soon be able to overcome the pandemic", it conveyed.
