Imphal, July 31 2015 :
The Manipur High Court has today ordered a 'stay' over the disqualification of Wangoi MLA O Lukhoi.
He had filed an appeal to the Court to the Court immediately after his disqualification.
It may be mentioned that Lukhoi along with Thongju MLA Th Bishorjit and Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan were disqualified by the Tribunal Court of the Manipur Legislative Assembly for their alleged 'disloyalty and anti-party actions' to the Trinamool Congress party on May 27 this year.
However, Wangoi's O Lukhoi had filed an appeal to the Manipur High Court over dissatisfaction in the verdict of the Tribunal Court.
The next hearing of the order is scheduled on August 19 .
On the other hand, speaking to a press meet held today in his residence over the new development, Thangmeiband ex-MLA Kh Joykishan said, "Today's order of the Manipur High Court to give a stay to O Lukhoi has only proved that the judgement of Speaker Th Lokeshor on the disqualification issue was indeed unjust and wrong" .
He, however, ruled out any possibility of filing a case like Lukhoi as he wants to stick to his earlier announcement that he will come back into the Assembly only as an elected member in the by-election which is slated to be held in the next four-five months.
