Moreh, July 31 2015 :
Landslides along the Imphal-Moreh section of the National Highway today has cut off the border town of Moreh from the rest of the State, our correspondent reports.
The landslides occurred at several locations along the stretch of Imphal - Moreh highway in between Senam and Tengnoupal due to heavy rainfall in the area.
A portion of the highway (approximately 20 metres wide) sank about 2 feet from the road surface in between Bongjang and Senam village.
Tree branches and muds also blocked the road partially at several places along the highway.
A severe landslide also occurred in between Saivom and Tengnoupal village blocking the highway completely preventing vehicular movement including two wheelers.
More than 100 vehicles, both commercial and private, coming from Moreh have been stranded near Tengnoupal as they could not proceed further due to the landslide.
