Imphal, July 31 2015 :
Even as his former colleague O Lukhoi's disqualification from being a Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly has been stayed by the High Court of Manipur, former MLA Kh Joykisan has ruled out any option of going to Court.
He maintained that he would rather fight the by-election on a BJP ticket.
Speaking to media persons today, Joykishan claimed, "The High Court's order has proved that we (Th Bishwajit, O Lukhoi and myself) were not guilty when the Manipur Legislative Assembly's Speaker disqualified us.
"It was rather disappointing that the Speaker disqualified us without any valid reasons", he added.
Joykishan said that he decided not to return to the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) as the Central leaders of the party did not say a single word on the Speaker's disqualification order.
He added that such indifference of the Central leaders prompted him to join the BJP.
Talking about the ongoing mass movement for enactment of regulatory mechanism which can effectively check influx, the former MLA questioned the resignation of the three Congress MLAs from the Bill drafting committee.
They should give a convincing explanation for their resignation when the committee had already announced that drafting of a new Bill would be completed in the next three/four days.
All the people of Manipur are reeling under severe hardships and it has been several weeks since tens of thousands of students have been denied formal education.
Given all these harsh realities, the Government should work with sincerity and dedication, said the former MLA elected from Thangmeiband A/C.
