State govt to check cyber crimes: Ibobi

Imphal, June 26 2013:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has announced that the State government would take up effective measures to check cyber crimes in the State.
He was speaking in the State Assembly during the discussion for demand grant of information and technology today.
MLAs Dr I Ibohalbi and Samuel Risom raised cut motions to the demand.
Chief Minister Ibobi clarified that the Information and Technology Department is one of the important departments of State government.
The department would set up 399 command service centres and web sites for providing information to the people.
The State government would also set up an IT Park at Mantripukhri at the cost of Rs.600 crores, he noted.
A total of Rs.31,96,70,000 was passed by the State Assembly for information and technology.
