Assault on Z'rong student: JAC dissolved to endorse ZYF, ZSUM

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the attempt on the life of Ringsanbou Newmai, a B.A.student of Maram Don Bosco College, has been dissolved today and has decided to endorse the Zeliangrong Youth Front, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland (ZYF-AMN) and Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM) in taking up the issue.
In a meeting held at the office of Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) today, the JAC members decided to dissolve the Committee and lend their weight on the line of action to be taken up by ZYF and ZSUM.
Meanwhile, ZYF and ZSUM have announced this evening to convene a meeting in this regard at Namdulong Youth Club onMonday, August 4 at 10:30 am.
All the executive members of the ZYF and ZSUM, ex-leaders of ZYF and ZSUM have been invited to participate in the meeting.
On the other hand, All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has vehemently condemned the physical assault meted out to Ringsanbou Newmai, a Bachelar of Arts History Hons 5th Semister Student Studying in Don Bosco Maram on July 28 at around 7:30 pm by some local folks suspected to be underground cadres.
"It is so frustrating to see that Maram centre, a temple of learning has turned to a safe abode for carrying out anti elements in the name of safeguarding the boarders/hostellers who are lodged in different private run hostels," ATSUM stated, and added that frequent occurrence of infighting and physical assaults meted out to Maram college students by local goons at different point of time is not tolerable.
Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) and Liangmai Naga Katima Ruanbdi have also condemned the physical assault on Riangsanbou Newmai.
