Governor hands over toilets to villagers

Imphal, January 23 2018:
Governor Dr Najma Heptulla today handed over toilets to the villagers of K Senam and K Sehjang of Kangpokpi district.
The toilets were constructed by 86 Battalion CRPF deployed along the NH-37 under Civic Action programme at in compliance with 'Swachha Bharat Abhiyan' which was launched by the Government of India.
The construction was carried out after due survey of the area, said a press release issued by Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF.
Upon reaching Sehjang, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla was received by Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF Kalyan Singha.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony as chief guest, Governor Najma Heptulla appreciated CRPF for proving such basic public convenience following the cleanliness drive launched by the Government.
She said that it is an impeccable step taken up by the CRPF for the villagers of Sehjang situated in interior area along the NH-37 .
She urged CRPF to make more contribution towards cleanliness of the surrounding to maintain a good standard of hygiene.
She said that in the past CRPF had carried similar endeavours like recruitment, awareness programme, providing drinking water and study materials for needy students and sports items to the needy schools in public interest.
A cultural programme was presented to mark the occasion.
IGP Vikram Sahgal and men of 86 Bn CRPF attended the programme, the release said.
