MLA Haupu donates safety kits worth Rs 1.5 lakh

Singhat (Singngat) MLA GS Haupu on Friday donated face masks, hand sanitizers and other safety equipment worth Rs 1.5 lakh for use by the people in his constituency.
In a simple function held at his Churachandpur Lailam Veng residence, the MLA handed over the safety gears to leaders of KSO Sangaikot area and MO in-charge and two nurses of the PHC.
The event was attended by Sangaikot Block SDO Zosanglur and his staffer members.
The safety gears were donated for use at the district hospital, Singngat CHC and Sangaikot.
During his speech, MLA Haupu promised that no one will die of hunger and said that he is ready to do his bit for the people during this second wave of COVID-19.Expressing his gratitude to the 200-plus villages for their cooperation, Haupu said that no one has been given lamps personally except leaders of churches and village chiefs.
He further said that in future equitable distribution of benefits coming from the government will be ensured.
Meanwhile, BJP Churachandpur district president Khaipao Haokip convened a press conference on Friday at his residence, during which he announced that all the hand sanitizers and masks provided by TD, GAD &Trans-port Minister Vungzagin Valte and MLA GS Haupu will be handed out to all the residents of Churachandpur.
He further informed that BJP leaders will start the process of distribution on Saturday.
The safety gears will be handed over to all mandal leaders for distribution to the people and, if possible, to all orphanages and rehabilitation centres, Khaipao said.
Stating that this is the least the party can do for the people at this time of crisis to tide over the situation, he made an appeal to all to stay safe by following safety norms put in place by the government.
