Imphal, May 14 2021:
Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR), Government of Manipur urged the Directorate of Health Services Manipur to make arrangement for providing COVID-19 test for children under Child in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) category.
Chairperson of the Commission, Manibabu Phurailatpam urged the Directorate of Health Services to make arrangement for providing COVID-19 test to such children whose parents are Covid positive like provision for sample collection at home, arrangement of conveyance from home to hospital/lab or any other means deemed appropriate.
It may be noted that children whose parents are positive to the virus should be tested immediately and to take necessary steps.
Also it has been reported from Childline that several children could not go to hospitals/lab for COVID-19 test due to several reasons like financial hardships, lack of assistance, lack of any other adult members in the household etc.
Information of children who are in need of such arrangements can be taken from Childline helpline no 1098 and State and District Child Protection Services.
