Jonathan Hongsha, s/o Rev Dr Ambika Hongsha and Mary Hongsha from Maringlane, New Checkon, Imphal has been awarded with the highly prestigious Chevening Award for the year 2018/19 among the 52 chosen candidates from India.
He was born and brought up in Delhi and had been working as a National Consultant with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.
He will be pursuing MA in "International Poverty and Development" from the University of Sussex, which has been ranked number one globally in Development Studies for the past two years consecutively.
Jonathan Hongsha completed Bachelor of Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, University of Delhi, he aligned his technology skills for development outcomes with development organisations working in education and health sector.
He affirmed that it was a steady yet an inevitable transition from core technology to core development sector due to the pressing need of development in his home State and country.
Chevening is UK Govt's global leadership programme that offers future leaders a post graduate fully funded scholarship by the foreign and Commonwealth office to pursue one year Master's course in UK that will contribute to the global efforts of the recipient country.
