19 injured on Saturday's torch march

Imphal, August 16 2015:
While the Manipur Government was celebrating India's Independence Day on Saturday, many people at various parts of the valley districts continued sit-in protests and agitations demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
After completion of sit-in protests, people at 4 pm formed human chains along the roads and shouted slogans demanding implementation of ILPS.
During the evening hours, meira paibis of different localities at various places turned out on the streets with torches and marched on the roads.
Security forces, while trying to disperse the protesters, baton charged, fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets injuring many.
During the rallies, a total of 19 people were reported injured and admitted at hospitals including JNIMS and RIMS.
