Assam Rifles constructs bus waiting shed

Imphal, May 20 2015 :
22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) constructed a Bus Waiting Shed at Wabagai Lamkhai village in Thoubal District under 'Op Sadbhavana' programme.
According to a statement issued by the RPO HQ IGAR (S), the people of Wabagai Lamkhai village and nearby villagers requested for construction of a bus waiting shed in their village for respite from bad weather.
The Assam Rifles undertook the project and handed over the shed to the villagers.
Mega medical camp: 20 Assam Rifles (AR) of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Mega Medical camp at village Chandel under 'Op Sadbhavana' programme.
According to the statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S), the aim of the camp was to provide medical diagnosis and treatment to the locals.
Specialist doctors from Shija Hospital, Imphal along with medical team of 20 Assam Rifles and dental team of 26 Sector AR diagnosed the patients for medical, surgical, gynae, eye and dental problems.
Around 1000 people from Chandel and neighboring villages were treated / diagnosed during the Medical Camp.
People were also made aware about importance of maintenance of hygiene and sanitation in day to day life.
Pamphlets on first aid for snake bite, awareness about HIV/AIDS, precautions on malaria, tuberculosis, etc were also distributed to the locals during the camp.
The occasion was utilized to educate the public on Swine Flu and its symptoms.
Distributes solar street lights: According to a statement issued by PRO HQ IGAR (S), 3 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed six solar street lights to the villages New Samtal, Gamnom, Tuileng and Bonse under the remote areas of Chandel district, under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
This was done based on a long standing requirement of the villagers.
The local people expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for this initiative, the statement added.
Training of girls for nursing: Nursing training for the girls of Singhat village was conducted by 26 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South).
According to a statement issued by the PRO HQ IGAR (S), the nursing classes were conducted for 20 Students hailing from the civil society and remote villages of Singhat Sub Division, Churachandpur district, as a part of the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
The aim of the nursing classes was to train potential girls of Singhat village to provide first aid, dog bite management, protection against communicable disease and common diseases, ability to perform as a nurse in the village and to save lives of villagers in emergency at Singhat sub division of Churachandpur district.
