JAC suspends Khurai bandh

The Joint Action Committee constituted against the killing of K Korounganba has decided to suspend their indefinite bandh with immediate effect after Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has assured them to put all the commando personnel involved in May 17 incident under suspension at the second round of talk held at his office chamber today.
JAC convenor Ng Devendro said that Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and Khurai AC MLA Dr Ng Bijoy were also present at the two-hour long meeting.

After a marathon deliberation, the Chief Minister made a phone call to the DGP and asked him to put all the involved commando personnel under suspension, Devendro said.
He also said that the Chief Minister had also assured to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased after the ADC election.
