Womenfolk staged a sit-in at Purum Likli today against the reported threat and monetary demand to L Kaikam, a BJP candidate of the forthcoming ADC election by tripartite SoO signatory UG group.
A women leader who joined the protest said that the militants have intervened in the poll process and violated the rights of the people in Mapao DCC of Sadar Hills ADC.
She further said that two cadres of a UG group came to the Purum Likli residence of L Kaikam, BJP candidate for Mapao DCC, in the night of May 18 and demanded Rs 5 lakh from the candidate.
