Mission Department, Manipur Baptist Convention, organised the 1st Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) Mission Conference 2020, at MBC Centre Church, Chingmeirong today.
The opening event of the three day event (Feb 18-20) was graced by CBCNEI Mission Board Chairman Andrew Semp, CBCNEI general secretary Dr Akheto Sema, MBC general secretary Dr W Konghar, CBCNEI Mission secretary Dr Jolly Rimai, APBF general secretary Dr Vee Tetseo, ABCC member N Changmi and GBC Krima VI member Matseng Sangma as presidium members.
CBCNEI general secretary Professor Akheto Sema, APBF general secretary Dr Vee Tetseo and Christian Fellowship Kolkata Pastor Dr Ashok Andrews spoke during the event as messengers.
Speaking at the conference, Dr Jolly Rimai said that CBCNEI has been in existence for more than 100 years and it has been organising many events and functions to this day.
However, this is the first time the mission conference has been organised in collaboration with the Mission Department of MBC Centre Church, Dr Jolly added.
There are 6 conventions under CBCNEI at Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Karbi Anglong.
The conference has been organised as servitude to God and the people.
It will help bring the people of the North East closer as more than 800 people from all over the North East region are taking part in the conference, Jolly said, informing that CBCNEI head office is in Guwahati.
