Imphal, August 17 2013 :
Concerned over the manner certain properties of the schools are being kept at home by school authorities as their own personal property, Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) has categorically stated that all the properties of any school should be kept in the school itself.
Addressing media persons at its office here today, Publicity Secretary of KSA Angouton Khuman pointed out that Bashikhong Junior School, which is a combined of two LP schools, has no chowkidar.
The school has three cooks but there is no kitchen to cook mid-day meal for the students.
As such, the cooks take the rice provided by the government to their respective homes and bring the cooked rice to the school.
He further pointed out that three computers have been provided to the school for the students.
But the Headmistress of the school took away the entire computer sets to her home on the ground that one of the monitors had been stolen.
The student leader also informed that the Junior High School and the High School has a common playground.
For the High School, 10 computer sets were provided under SSA.
Here, too three monitors have been reportedly stolen and so the remaining computer sets have been shifted to the houses of the relatives of the Headmaster.
Such attitude of the school authorities is indeed unfortunate.
The school has been left unattended by the concerned authority and is in an ownerless state today.
The properties of the school which are for the students should be placed in the school itself and it cannot be shifted in any private place, he added.
