Assam rifles organises veterinary camp

Imphal, December 13 2014 :
32 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in association with 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital organised a veterinary camp under 'Op Sadbhavana' programme at Tuijang village in Chandel district on December 12, according to a release by PRO, IGAR(South) today.
A team of veterinary doctors led by Maj Praveen from 3 Army Dog unit provided the necessary veterinary cover and educated the villagers on medical aspects and caretaking of pets and livestock's.A large number of animals belonging to the locals of Tuijang and nearby villages were provided free treatment/ check-up by the veterinary team during the camp.
Medicines for approximately 1740 animals including poultry were dispensed to the villagers.
The locals expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles and to the veterinary team for their humanitarian service.
