British metal band 'Monuments' to headline ShiRock2022

British progressive metal band 'Monuments' will perform as the headliner on the concluding day of the upcoming ShiRock festival 2022 in Ukhrul town.
The first day of the musical entertainment will witness performance by Legendary Tangkhul folk singer Guru Rewben Mashangva, who will open the inaugural event at Bakshi Mini Stadium on May 25 .
This was announced by the official team of ShiRock festival, which is an annual rock music carnival conducted as a part of the state-level Shirui Lily festival.
Members of Monuments, who will land in the town for their performance on May 28, will include John Browne on guitars, Adam Swan on bass, Mike Malyan on drums and Andy Cizek on lead vocals.

We look forward to rocking out with you!" writes the international band about its scheduled performance at the festival on its official Facebook page.
As usual, ShiRock band competition will be held on May 26 and 27 .
On May 28, results of the band competition will be declared and winners will be felicitated.
Subsequently 5 the winning band will open the musical proceedings for the international band.
Monuments will take the stage from 8 pm onwards.
On the inaugural day, Guru Rewben Mashangva's performance will be followed by Somaya Rumthao featuring the Streetlights.
The opening event will conclude with performance from Nightmares, the ShiRock winner 2019.The band competition, which draws different bands from the entire Northeast region, carries a cash prize of Rs 10 Lakh for the winner, Rs 5 Lakh as second prize and Rs 2.5 Lakh as third prize with six individual prizes of Rs 25,000 each.
The line-up of participating bands for May 26 includes Variation 4, N2BM, Symphonic Illusion, GMP-The Band, Not Funny, Chasing Proxima and The Prophets.
The competition on May 27 will witness performances from Echoes of Mercy, 1BHK, Stab Maggot, Terra Progeny, Rongbin-The Secret Realm, Manga, Oblivious and The Paradigm Shift.
ShiRock is a ticket-free musical entertainment event organised with the dual aim to conserve the endangered flower and to promote young talented artistes from the North east region.
The festival is named after the world famed Shirui Lily (Lilium Mackliniae) and is celebrated annually at Shirui village and Ukhrul district headquarters to promote the unique flower \yhich blooms in May-June.
Meanwhile, preparations for the ShiRock event including the main stage, official gallery and other structures are underway in full swing at Bakshi ground where the four-day long musical entertainment will take place from May 25 to May 28 .
