MPP condemns Jessami incident

Imphal, April 20 2012:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) has strongly condemned the act of Meluri villagers of Nagaland who mercilessly beaten up six villagers of Jessami village under Ukhrul district on April 18 .
Leaders of MPP today visited the VDF personnel W Mizovei, who was among the six victims beaten up by villagers of Meluri.
Mizovei has been admitted to Shija Hospital here as his condition was serious.
The MPP team led by its President in charge Sanasam Umananda also gave some financial assistance to the victim.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the visit, Sanasam Umananda said that the incident which occurred on April 18 is indeed unfortunate.
This should not happen again in future.
The state government should see that the lives and properties of the people of Jessami village are protected and a cordial relation is brought between the two neighbouring states.
He also appreciated the role of the Chief Secretary of Manipur in ensuring safe release of the abducted six villagers from Nagaland in time.
It may be recalled that around 400 villagers of Melori village of Nagaland coming with all sorts of arms including guns and knives beat up the six villagers of Jeshami on April 18.The abducted villagers have been identified as W Mizovei, VDF driver, Misewelo, W Emilki, W Zakilou, W mupezo and WWelhi.
