Unity, peace calls mark Eid celebration

Imphal, July 10 2022:
Meitei Pangals residing at Phoubakchao Awang Leikai and elders of Meitei community in neighbouring village jointly celebrated Eid-ul-Zuha/Adha on Sunday.
In a release, National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) informed that they presented simple gifts to Meitei and Meitei Pangal people and also recalled the brotherly bond between Meitei and Meitei Pangal since early times.
The celebration also reaffirmed the pledge of strengthening the relationship and protecting the integrity of Manipur and was attended by NIPCO president Oinam Premjit, social activist Irengbam Tomba, ex-pradhan Zeinula Budin Nongjai and social worker Sorokhaibam Hemo as presidium members.
All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) also celebrated Eid at several places resided by Meitei-Pangals and distributed edible and essential items to destitute families.
It also extended Eid greetings to followers of Islam and Meitei Pangal community and further wished for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) celebrated Eid with locals of Mayakeithel village in Thoubal district on Sunday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Assam Rifles celebrated Eid with an aim to create a harmonious atmosphere, connect with local populace and spread the message of unity, universal brotherhood, peace and harmony.
