Student bodies back War on Drugs

The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU), Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) and All College Tribal Students' Union Imphal (ACTSU) have pledged unstinted support to the 'War on Drugs 2.0' .
The three students' bodies extended their support to the 'War on Drugs 2.0' in different letters submitted to the Chief Minister today.
Praising the Chief Minister for taking the initiative to campaign against drugs, MUSU said they will work with students and youth of the State and Manipur University in particular to eradicate the problem of drug abuse in the State.
MUTSU, in their letter, said the people have recently witnessed massive success of the campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren and added that the effort of law enforcement agencies are also laudable.
The letter also praised the Chief Minister for taking up action against drug dealers and drug abusers that have long been posing an existential threat to the public health (both mental and physical health) in the State.
MUTSU added that Chief Minister N Biren's 'War on Drugs' is one of the visible achievements which has gained complete support of all citizens of the State.
ACTSU, while extending their support to the 'War on Drugs', said in the letter that they will extend any necessary help in the fight against the drug menace across the State and will also work together with various CSOs to come forth and help the Government against the illegal drug traffickers and abusers.
