Imphal, November 28 2020:
The Bharatiya Janata Party, 42-Tengnoupal Mandal has refuted the claim that Benjamin Mate, spokesperson of BJP Manipur, misappropriated money meant for compensating people affected by Moreh bypass
road project.
A press release issued by BJP, Tengnoupal Mandal stated that the Bypass Road New Structure Committee also has no suspicion against Benjamin Mate.
Saying that the charge levelled against the spokesperson of BJP Manipur is baseless, the statement appealed to all not to repeat such act in future.
In a separate statement, the Mate Tribe Union (MTU) GHq said that Jangthang Mate and Benjamin Mate, president and ex-secretary of the MTU-GHq, were 'wrongly' charged for corruption in the Moreh bypass road project.
The MTU cabinet had a concrete investigation about the blame and clarified that the blame was just baseless targeting someone's character assassination, it said and added that all the amount Jangthang Mate received was a compensation for the demolition of his three-storey building and his patta land.
The union further stated that such random accusations should be avoided in the larger interest of all.
