Imphal, November 28 2020:
Members of Ngari Shop cum Residential Development Apunba Lup Organisation said they had been living there since the last many years and had been doing various kinds of business without any obstruction and hindrance from any corner.
A statement released by the organisation said that the residents and the shop owners of Ngari Galli area are in deteriorated condition before the beautification process was taken up.
The residents of this area are extremely happy with the change of this deteriorated space into a much healthy site and extended their sincere gratitude to the Government.
The statement also said that it was, however, unfortunate that a shop like structure has been under construction on the western side of the Ngari Galli footpath which will obstruct free movement of public and also loading and unloading of various products for shops in the area.
It will also be a problem during any calamity, like fire, earthquake etc, as the place is already very congested and the construction will only add to the burden.
The area also faced problems during the monsoon and the new construction has only made the matter worse.
The organisation said the plan had been executed by the department concerned without consulting the residents and shop owners of the area.
They also said that the ongoing work has even covered up the sewage pipe.
They sought attention from relevant authority on this matter.
