Dai Remmei's film on Makuiluangdi Fest released

The Luangdimai Citizens Forum, a body working for unity and overall development of the Luangdimai people (Zeliangrong), released a documentary film titled "Makuiluangdi Festival Documentary Film" via zoom video conference today.
The programme was hosted by Abigail Kaizun Pamei, an entrepreneur based in Shillong.
Poujenlung Gonmei, founder and Principal, Highland National College, Imphal, gave a warm welcome note and shared a brief history of LCF emphasising that the forum believes in "one people, one vision and one voice" for all the Luangdimai people.
He appreciated Zeliangrong frontal organisations, Makuiluangdi and Nguangphungning village for their tireless efforts in making the initiatives of LCF and the Makuiluangdi festival a reality.
Dai Remmei, Additional Central Commissioner, Central Provident Fund, Mumbai, who is also the director of the documentary film stated that the film focuses on the "Makuiluangdi Festival" a notable event that takes place from November 28 to 30 at Makuiluangdi village, Senapati district.
"The 2019 festival was aimed at sensitizing the larger Luangdimai community in and around the sacred sites and remnants of their ancestors, with the conscious intent to enable an understanding for the urgent need to preserve and conserve one's history and ethnic identity; traditions, customs, and social practices that promote equity and equality for all individuals; promote environmental sustainability; and create room for thoughtful conversation for economic development," Remmei said.
The "Makuiluangdi Festival Documentary Film" is a small yet crucial step in the larger pursuit of achieving the ultimate goal which is to unite and bring all the Luangdimai people back to "our homeland", and to enable a spirit of curiosity to start positive and critical thinking; conversation; collective and sustainable action for the overall development of its people, Remmei added.
TR Zeliang, Opposition leader and former Chief Minister of Nagaland, appreciated and congratulated the LCF team for taking up the initiative of organising and conducting the Makuiluangdi festival, "a crucial step in paving ways for our people to get back in touch with our history of being one" .
He urged all the Luangdimai people across Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and across the world to come together and unite as one people with one vision and one voice.
TR Zeliang declared the release of the "Makuiluangdi Festival Documentary Film" from his residence in Dimapur.
H Nriame, on behalf of LCF extended his heartiest gratitude and thanks to TR Zeliang and Remmei Films crew members.
Nriame also thanked as many as 110 hosts across the globe who have signed up to screen the film in their respective places.
The webinar ended with a blessing prayer by Charingambou Briam, Pastor, Inpui Baptist Church Sanglamtilla Rangaphar Dimapur, Nagaland.
