MDA team assesses Irang Bridge work

A team of the Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) including BJP today went to Irang and made a spot assessment of the Irang Bridge construction work.
Speaking to media persons at the work site, MDA convenor and Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi said they were informed by the army officers engaged in the bridge installation work that the same work would be completed by tomorrow, if not today.
According to M Tombi, army troops have been black-topping the roads on either side of the bridge on war-footing.
On the other hand, a team of the Transporters and Drivers Council (TDC) today made a field assessment of the bridge construction work.
TDC joint secretary Dhanabir recalled that the Irang Bridge snapped when truck carrying sand was crossing it on November 1 .
He said that the Irang Bridge which is being installed anew under the joint initiative of the Indian army and the State Government would be ready for vehicular traffic either today or tomorrow.
