The United All Communities Social Uplifters (UNACSU), Imphal-I has urged the state government for taking up necessary measures for ensuring a sense of security and protection to the people of Jessami village, who have been contributing their mite towards safeguarding the territory of Manipur.
In a statement, General Secretary of UNACSU Jitendra Ningomba suggested that the government should at least deployed IRB personnel or set up a fully functional police outpost for the protection of villagers of Jessami to ensure that the recent incident of assault and abduction of six villagers by people of neighbouring border village of Meluri in Nagaland is not repeated.
Taking into consideration of the fact that the people of Jessami have been safeguarding the territory of Manipur, it is also the right time for all the people in Manipur to show their support to the Jessami villagers, the statement exhorted.
