Swine Flu outbreak: Teacher body wants school holiday

All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association, Imphal (AMRPSWA) has sought permission of the State Government in declaring holiday by schools for some days as a precautionary measure against the outbreak of Swine Flu in Manipur.
The association in a statement said everyone has faced a panicky situation as the H1N1 virus spreads in Manipur now and requested the State Government to allow schools, particularly in densely populated Imphal area, to declare holiday for some days as part of the precautionary measures taken up by the Government to contain the disease.
It also urged the State Government to organize a mass awareness program on Swine Flu at all educational institutions in Manipur.
The association suggested that vacation period of the current academic session should be shorten if schools have holidays in connection with the outbreak of Swine Flu.
