Imphal, March 12 2015:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) Thursday urged the State Government to install specialized viral testing labs at both RIMS and JNIMS.
In a press meet on Thursday, DESAM President Moirangthem Angamba stated that the blood sample of a patient sent from RIMS is taking more than three days for the results to come, while experts claimed the actual time taken for such test was just four to six hours.

He further said that with the recent death due to Swine Flu, there was panic and chaos created within the State despite State Government authorities asking the people not to worry.
The cause of the panic was due to lack of awareness and proper treatment facilities, he said.
The situation has also given a chance for those dealing with medicines to hoard the recommended tablets and mint money.
DESAM also condemned the incident of schools authorities not allowing students, teachers, staff without masks inside their campuses.
The student body appealed the State Government to take appropriate steps and deal with the situation.
